This is a Filipino style rice porridge cooked with sweet sticky rice (malagkit), water (tubig) , salt (asin), sugar (asukal) can add coconut milk (gata) for creaminess and Tablea De Cacao originated from Philippines.
The easiest and most satisfying comfort food and hits the chocolatey sweet tooth.
Ingredients:
-1 cup sweet rice (glutinous rice) rinse and soaked rice for 10-15 minutes
-2 cups water -2 pieces of pure TABLEA DE Cacao (can also sub cacao powder)
-1 cup coconut milk
-1/2 cup sugar
-1 tsp salt
How to:
1.) First rinse sweet rice and soaked for 15 mins
2.) Add water to pot, pinch of salt the add rice.
3.) Cook for about 5-10 minutes on medium heat checking the rice consistency every 2 mins. If rice is not cook add more water if its getting too dry,
4.) Once rice is cook add sugar, tablea de cacao or cacao powder, and half of coconut milk.
5.) At this point you can adjust if you want more sugar or more cacao.
6.) Serve hot and add more coconut milk or any plant based milk on top. I like mine milky!
